Paul Sajda

Paul Sajda received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1989 and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 1992 and 1994, respectively. He founded the Center for Neural Engineering and Computation with Prof. Aurel A. Lazar in 2013. He also directs the Laboratory for Intelligent Imaging and Neural Computing at Columbia's Biomedical Engineering Department. His research utilizes large-scale computational modeling and advanced neuroimaging to infer the circuitry and circuit properties of the visual cortex. A Fellow of the IEEE, Prof. Sajda has received an NSF CAREER Award in 2002 and the Sarnoff Technical Achievement Award for Computer Aided Diagnosis in 1996.
