Elizabeth M.C. Hillman

Elizabeth M.C. Hillman received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Physics and her Ph.D. in Medical Physics and Bioengineering from the University College London in 1998 and 2002, respectively. Her current research focuses on the development of new optical imaging technologies for visualization of in vivo function and physiology. She currently directs the Laboratory for Functional Optical Imaging at Columbia's Biomedical Engineering Department. Prof. Hillman has received the Adolph Lomb Medal from the Optical Society of America in recognition of contributions to the field of optics by researchers under the age of 35, an NSF CAREER Award, and the Rodriguez Junior Faculty Award from the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science.
